Fix: sometimes the avatars cache isn't used

When going back to a thread list from another page, the Community
Console shows the thread list using the cached list (it doesn't retrieve
the list again from the API), and so the avatars feature times out while
waiting for the XHR interceptor to handle invalidations, and gets the
threads from the server instead of from the cache.

Now, after the wait times out, it will be assumed that the API request
didn't occur and so the avatars in the cache are still valid, so the
cache entry will be used if it exists instead of calling the API.
